My Poetry & Philosophy

Poetry

Most writers follow a specific style or rule to their literature, whether it be hymns or haikus I’d rather not follow so many strongly spoken rules in my writing. The poetry of Cesar Cruz; the literature that I spend my time writing is bled out of me. In pain and in catharsis I write my poetry to establish what was, what is, and what we can learn from sore circumstances. I write it with care and kindness so the words can make friends with your heart and find family when you realize how familiar all of their feelings are. I write my poetry in process of this strange life I live like yours, one with suffering, one capable of love. I write as life rocks me along its chosen path because it lets me survive. I write so I don’t forget what I’ve been forced to learn, and so you don’t have to endure the unnecessary.

Context and Perspective

I believe in being kind to each other. Learning from one another and taking the time it takes to fully understand the flowers and conscious experience between you and me. We are living because we are dying so why not take the time to appreciate the ways we erode together. Grow the compassion to care and feel, then feel for others as you would for the self.

Our society uses its casual cruelty to rip our bonds apart and pretend like there is more worth in not caring, but I promise you, feeling is much more fulfilling. I believe in empathy. Suffering is something we all experience because we all have the free will to impact each other in ways we may or may not be seeking. We can sabotage the dreams of ourselves and the kind strangers passing by we can do whatever we please, but it helps being kind.

Free will means we as well as others can throw each other off our desired paths forcing compromises to be made of our dreams. People can kill each other just as easily as they can be kind. Your actions are of your choice and further of your design. Context can’t be chosen but perspective can, and perspective can allow for a context to form of more to your liking, as long as you are honest to yourself and to your conscious.

Everyone has conscious, some use it in self-control, others find it in guilt.
